Cupid’s Hunt. “Looking for podcasts… in all the right places!”
Two days left before the big event (actually, less than 48 hours considering the time this is being written) and the excitement is starting to build!
People are really getting excited about this and even more participants have joined since the last update. ANNOUNCING:

Anji, aka AnjiBee of “The Chillcast” podcast and Lovespirals fame
Welcome to the party ladies. I am so happy to have you join the Cupid’s Hunt podcast event!
At the end of the last update I promised to talk about the “SoulSites Podiverse” webring. For those of you who are not familiar with webrings essentially it is code that a webmaster adds to their blog or website (in the form of a navigation menu) that makes it easy to move from one site to the next site. All of the websites that have joined in the ring are thus connected in this fashion.
Just about all of the podcasters participating in Cupid’s Hunt have joined the webring thus making it very simple for you to “hunt down” the many excellent podcasts we all have created. In most cases just look for the Cupid’s Hunt logo (you know what that looks like by now, right? {smile}) and you should find the webring navigation links just below it. Many of the sites have placed the these links in their sidebar, but if you don’t see it there scroll down to the bottom of the website page as this is a common location for the menu also.

OK! With less than a week to go before the big event I think it’s time to step up the promo campaign a bit {as if I haven’t been mentioning this here and there all along, right? smile}.
Anyway, today I have the pleasure of presenting the list of podcasters/bloggers who will be participating in this first annual Cupid’s Hunt Valentine’s Day podcast extravaganza. I’m sorry, what was that you said? Oh, “first annual”? The U.S. podcast audience hit 18.5 million in 2007 and is on track to increase 251 percent to 65 million in 2012, eMarketer estimates. Out of the 65 million listeners, 25 million will be active users who tune in once a week. “As the US podcasting industry matures it is unquestionably creating a listening audience,” says Paul Verna, eMarketer Senior Analyst and author of the new report, Podcast Audience: Seeking Riches in Niches, “And along with a larger audience comes increases in advertising spending tied to podcasts.”

After Erykah Badu’s announcement that her soon-to-be-released New AmErykah is only the first of three albums she’ll be releasing this year with the other two, Return of The Ankh and New AmErykah II, being released via USB flash drive, it seems as though more artists are getting on the digital bandwagon. It was, therefore, very interesting to find an email in my inbox this morning announcing DJ J.Period’s release of a limited edition USB Flash drive featuring six of his Best Of Collections, including one my favorites, his Best of Lauryn Hill which features tons of unreleased material.

OK, this is a little late this week (the plan is to do this post on Monday morning or late Sunday night). Got caught up in the euphoria of the best Super Bowl game that I have ever seen (not to mention the consequences the next morning from all of the celebratory libations at my Giants victory). Cupid’s Hunt: Update – 7 Days and Counting…
Cupid’s Hunt. “Looking for podcasts… in all the right places!”
Just in case you haven’t seen or heard anything about it by now (where have YOU been? {smile}) Cupid’s Hunt (CH for short) is a podcasting event that will make Valentine’s Day 2008 one of the most memorable you’ve had in a long time. (Hmmmm, I wonder if it will be better than that Valentine’s Day when… ummm, sorry {sheepish grin} flashback/reminiscing there for a moment…)
Anyway… on Thursday, February 14, 2008 a number of Soul/Jazz music and audio DJs have all agreed to release podcasts that day in celebration of the “day of love”. Actually, in addition to the big day itself, there will be new podcasts released all through the entire Valentine’s Day weekend, Thursday thru Sunday (more on that in another post). Stay tuned here at NetInfoWeb.com, your official Cupid’s Hunt Headquarters as we will be providing regular updates almost daily leading up to the “big event”.

Last year's Capital Hip Hop Soul Fest was a musical celebration while vendors sold their products to eager to buyers. Book authors, including Felicia Pride-- writer of The Message and activist author Devin Walker were among some of the top authors who sold their books.
