I first heard of the “Elecrtic Flag” back in 67,from the older kids in “Oaktown”(Oakland Ca.)who were musically hip and had made it to the Monterey pop festival.
They said, “there was an out a sight drummer who had to be seen to be belived”, they were right!
I then went to see Buddy w/the flag at the old Fillmore auditorium in SF soon after, and was turned on to what he called at that time the “Psychedelic Boogaloo”
His powerful and soulful drumming put me in a trance and his magnetic engery literly pulled me up onto the stage that night(somehow sneaking temporaly un-noticed past the stage crew) where I sat down directly behind him soaking up his complete sound as he drove the band w/ his funky/fat pocket back beat, that seemed to me like being inside a jet airline engine watching the giant fans spin.
As I was sitting there trans-fixed on him, Buddy turned around (rubber neck style) w/his head still rock’n in perfect time and smiled, I was then noticed by an older stage hand and was gentley ushered off the the stage and released back into the audidance to dance and enjoy the rest of the show.
Thank you for giving your music to all of us,I will always miss & remember how you changed my life that night w/your supernatural & magical engery, you were and are truly the “Complete Musicman”

Remember the Four Brothers Beats blog? Well, the boys are back! BUT... not quite in the way you may have been expecting. It's, how shall we say, "the same, but different!"

Fusion: Where Music, Technology, and Artist Creativity Intersect
Hello readers and listeners. I trust all is well today. This post is a follow-up to the previous post about the subject of an upcoming podcast I hope to resurrect entitled Fusion. The concept of this podcast came to me via an off the cuff discussion I had a few years ago with a fellow podcaster/recording artist/graphic designer. Both of us, being musicians in our own right, began discussing our backgrounds and influences in making music, which invariably talking about how technology (past and present) played a role taking the music from inner to outer. I began to see the different paths ...
