SoulTrackin’ 04/30/07… End of Month Review

It’s been awhile since I actually sat down and wrote a “SoulTrackin” post here but there is a good reason, which I’ll explain in a bit.

April has been a very good month as far as the site is concerned and I thought this would be a good time (end of the month and 1/3 of the way through the year) to take a look back and review some of the happenings here at NetInfoWeb and give a shout out to many of my favorite SoulSites, old and new.

First, a few words (I’ll try not to write a novel here {smile}) about this family of websites (RIBS and the SoulSites Aggregator page being the other two). The most important thing I want to say is:

“THANK YOU!”

I have heard from quite a few people over the past couple of months (especially the last couple of weeks) via comments and/or email stating how much they like what I’m doing here. I can’t express in words how much this positive feedback warms my heart and makes my day. Additionally, some of you have even thought enough of this place to add it to your blogroll on your site. I smile from ear-to-ear all day long when that happens. A double “Thank You!” for the ‘LinkLove’ as I like to call it.

I’d also like to express my appreciation to all of the blog/website authors who write about and share their passion for soul music (in all of its forms). Without you guys and gals this place couldn’t really exist… there’d be no SoulSites for me to search for, discover and promote! {smile} So, if you have a soul music site, keep on doing what you’re doing over there so I can keep on doing what I’m doing over here. If I’ve found you, I’ll talk about ya. If I haven’t found you yet, well… I’m lookin’ for ya! {smile}

Also, in the continuing evolution of this place, April saw the debut of NetInfoWeb’s SoulSites Aggregator page, something I have been wanting to put together for a long time. The SA page displays the latest headlines of 50 “soul music” sites in one nice convenient place, thus making it extremely easy to keep up to date with all of the music information that the sites publish. As a matter of fact, that’s why I don’t write these longer “SoulTrackin” posts as frequently as I originally began doing, it’s easier to track the sites with the SA page. BTW, there are so many good sites out there that I may just have to create a SoulSites Aggregator 2 page. Keep checking back for an announcement.

And last, but far from the least, the kitchen continues to operate on overtime as I prepare my weekly musical morsels, the Triple Play Thurs-Day mix, over on the mp3blog Rhythms In Black Satin.

Now, what about many of those great SoulSites?

Well first, to steal a phrase from Hollywood, I think “A Star Is Born”. I have become hooked on a relatively new soul music blog called Fufu Stew (you just know that I’m gonna love a music site that uses food references, right? {smile}). Chief Chef Vincent “be cookin’ up a storm” (as mama used to say) providing interesting and entertaining information about that sweet, soul music. And if that ain’t enough, download some of the music mixes that he creates. The only thing else I can think of to say as you try to push yourself away from his buffet table is: “Would you like a side of RIBS with that?” {BIG smile}

New SoulSites:
Some new (to me that is) SoulSites that I’ve found this month and have been diggin’ on…

LinkLove (I paid them some $$$ and they added me to their blogroll; just kidding!):

Sites I’m Souled On (stole that phrase from Scholar!):

What was it that Don Cornelius used to say at the end of every SoulTrain, “We wish you love… peace… and SOUL!
