The Motown Alumni Association (MAA) is organized exclusively for scholarly and educational purposes as described under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This corporation is organized exclusively for the educational and scholarly purposes as described under Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to provide charitable assistance to underprivileged communities and provide educational and literary workshops under the auspices of the performing arts.
To promote and preserve the legacy and traditions of the Motown Record Corporation.
To encourage the development and performance of music in the community by providing performance venues, workshops, music festivals, and any and all other appropriate means.
To provide education as to the history of R & B music.
To provide a centralized source of information regarding learning resources, instructors, performers, and events related to R & B music.
To publish a newsletter and maintain a website which focuses on information related to the above objectives and purposes.
To bring together people, ideas, and capital for music and arts education with a focus on expanding awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity.
The territory in which the corporation’s operations are to be principally conducted is the United States of America.
The MAA also has various branches inernationally, and embrace it’s various chapters in all other countries, which includes; England, Scotland, Germany, Japan, and the Island of Guam.
