“Tracking the Sites, Tracking the SOUL!”

…is the new byline for this site. As I talked about in the previous post, the focus for this site has changed. Instead of concentrating on the intersection of computers, technology and business, NetInfoWeb is now focused on information about and relating to music, specifically Soul Music.

Of course, just like any journey, once you know where you are headed you still have to figure out how to get there. This is the “how”: discovering and reviewing the websites and blogs that are covering the soul music scene, both past and present.

In some ways the decision to adopt this niche for the site is purely selfish, I have spent a lot of long hours searching the ‘Net for good sites that have quality information about yesterday and today’s Soul music scene. There are many sites out there that were subsequently found, but I kept having this nagging thought: “this would be a lot easier if there was one site I could go to that could point me to the top Soul/R&B/Funk sites on the ‘Net”. I mean, you see all kinds of places that track the sites and/or services for “Web 2.0″ and just about any other topic that you can think of. But, as of yet, I have not seen a site dedicated to the tracking, reviewing and promoting of other websites/blogs whose primary subject is Soul music.

NetInfoweb aspires to be just such a site.

Well, that’s two steps covered so far. We now know where we’re going and, the plan for how we’re gonna get there. Next time out let’s take a look at some of the sites that I’ve found and see about developing a format for reviewing what they have to offer.
