Too Much of a Good Thing?
“So the rumors are true: Microsoft is saying that it’ll release six different editions of Windows Vista when the OS–due to show up late this year–arrives. (Actually, there will be twelve versions, since everything will be available in both 32- and 64-bit editions.)
The company will aim three versions of Windows at home users (all of the descriptions that follow are Microsoft’s, not mine)”… Read full article here
[Note: Jeez, are we sure we have enough?! Haven't these guys ever heard of the "K.I.S.S. Principle"? This is way too many versions/choices and is only going to lead to much initial confusion in the consumer and business marketplaces. Wait a minute! I'm an IT professional/consultant... looking at it from that angle maybe this isn't that bad after all. Hey, Bill, can we come up with 2-3 more versions please; I'm gonna have two kids in college in a couple of years! {smile} --TG]
RSS Explained
RSS, which stands for Really Simple Syndication, is neither really simple nor really syndication. It is a powerful marketing tool. Like any new technology, it’s not without caveats. Here’s a completely non-techie, plain English explanation of what marketers need to know about RSS.
Now What?

Hey! Things Aren’t So Bad After All…
Why The Economy Is A Lot Stronger Than You Think – In a knowledge-based world, the traditional measures don’t tell the story. Intangibles like R&D are tracked poorly, if at all. Factor them in and everything changes. Read the full article here.

Your ‘Global Microbrand’…
“There are thousands of reasons why people write blogs. But it seems to me the biggest reason that drives the bloggers I read the most is, we’re all looking for our own personal global microbrand. That is the prize. That is the ticket off the treadmill. And I don’t think it’s a bad one to aim for.” Read full article here.
Browser Wars 2.0: IE7 Beta 2 Preview Released

Microsoft has released beta 2 of the next version of their Internet Explorer web browser (IE7) to the public. Although I am a staunch Firefox fan these days, I have been looking forward to putting the new IE browser through its paces since it was announced last year.
Let’s face it, even though Microsoft’s IE is the dominant web browser in the world, IE6 was starting to fall behind in features, performance and capability compared to its competition (Firefox, Opera, Safari, et al). And Microsoft, as we have all come to learn, is at its best when it feels the heat of competition in a market it wants to dominate.
Can the ‘king’ retain his crown? We all now have a chance to find out. Download the IE7 Beta 2 preview here.

Remember the Four Brothers Beats blog? Well, the boys are back! BUT... not quite in the way you may have been expecting. It's, how shall we say, "the same, but different!"

Fusion: Where Music, Technology, and Artist Creativity Intersect
Hello readers and listeners. I trust all is well today. This post is a follow-up to the previous post about the subject of an upcoming podcast I hope to resurrect entitled Fusion. The concept of this podcast came to me via an off the cuff discussion I had a few years ago with a fellow podcaster/recording artist/graphic designer. Both of us, being musicians in our own right, began discussing our backgrounds and influences in making music, which invariably talking about how technology (past and present) played a role taking the music from inner to outer. I began to see the different paths ...
